Duterte’s infrastructure projects in 1st year 7x more than Aquino’s

An astounding difference between the infrastructure projects of President Rodrigo Duterte and former President Benigno Aquino III is evidently seen in the infographic created by Business World.

In Business World’s infographic, Duterte has seven times more projects in his first year than Aquino did from 2010-2011.

With the current administration’s vision of a golden age of infrastructure, Business World Research reports that the stats look “promising” and Duterte can possibly achieve that golden age vision within his years of service.

The current administration has released Php 461.26 billion for its approved infrastructure projects within Duterte’s first year contrary to Aquino’s administration which only released Php 135.66 billion for approved infrastructure projects within his first year.

Additionally, Aquino’s infrastructure projects were plagued with suspensions and cancellations of approved projects of his predecessor former President Gloria Arroyo.

On the contrary, Business World cites that the positive trend of Duterte’s infrastructure projects is due to the fact that he honored the approved projects of his predecessor, Aquino.

Political analyst Malou Tiquia says that for Duterte to achieve “golden age” would mean that two million jobs are generated every year for the next five years.

In her full post on Facebook, Tiquia said,

"Thanks BusinessWorld!

Just to complete the picture, the "golden age" would mean 2 million jobs a year for the next 5 years.

We are also paying for the decision of BSA3 to cancel contracts, such as on the Laguna Lake dredging where "a World Bank body ordered the Philippine government to pay P800 million to a Belgian firm following the cancellation of the P18.7-billion Laguna Lake Rehabilitation project", among others.

And of course, you know how long CAVITex (14 kilometer-long) got constructed...the rest is history..."
